The head of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs , Mevlut Cavusoglu , during a press conference following the results of 2022, told reporters that he plans to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in the near future. It is reported by RIA Novosti .
“Yesterday there was a meeting of the head of our Ministry of Defense in Moscow . In the near future, I will also have negotiations with Lavrov,” he said.
Earlier it was reported that tripartite talks were held in Moscow between the defense ministers of the Russian Federation , Turkey and Syria . The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the meeting discussed ways to resolve the Syrian crisis and the problem of refugees, as well as discussed joint efforts to combat extremist groups in Syria.
The defense ministry stressed that the ministers agreed on the need to continue the trilateral dialogue in order to stabilize relations in the region.
After the negotiations, the Syrian Ministry of Defense reported that the meeting of the head of the defense department of this country, Ali Mahmoud Abbas , and his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar in Moscow “was positive.
