The Union of European Football Associations ( UEFA ) commented on the information about the ban on participation in all tournaments for the midfielder of the Moscow “Spartak” Quincy Promes, denying his involvement. The words of the organization are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“This case is not related to UEFA,” the organization said.
On July 11, information appeared in Promes’s profile on the Transfermarkt portal, according to which the footballer was “suspended by the sports court from participating in all tournaments.” In “Spartacus” denied these data.
Promes has been playing for Spartak since February 2021. He previously played for the Red and Whites from 2014 to 2018. In the 2016/17 season, the Dutchman became the champion of Russia as part of the team .
The Spartak football player was accused of stabbing his cousin in the summer of 2020. At this point, the Dutchman was already an Ajax player.
On June 19, De Telegraaf reported that a Dutch court had ruled against Promes. The court sentenced the player to imprisonment for 1.5 years.
