The Basmanny Court in Moscow arrested in absentia the former Deputy Energy Minister Vladimir Milov (recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation ). It is reported by TASS.
It is noted that he is accused of publicly disseminating deliberately false information about the use of the RF Armed Forces.
“A measure of restraint has been chosen in the form of detention against Milov Vladimir Stanislavovich … for 2 months from the moment of extradition to the Russian Federation or detention on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the court said.
According to the agency, Milov was put on the international wanted list. As punishment, he faces up to 10 years in prison.
Before this, RIA Novosti, citing businessman Yevgeny Prigozhin’s company Concord, reported that Milov was put on the wanted list by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of a criminal libel case against Prigozhin.
As indicated by the company, if Milov does not return to Russia, then lawyers will have to turn to Interpol and initiate the extradition procedure.
Earlier, the State Duma proposed a ban on issuing loans to foreign agents.
