The Izvestia newspaper published a video of the moment a Ukrainian rocket hit the Chekhov Garden cafe in Taganrog.
Footage captured on the car’s DVR shows the rocket hitting the building, followed by an explosion.
Before this, the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia opened a criminal case on the fact of an attack on the territory of the Rostov region by Ukraine. According to the investigation, on July 28, Ukrainian troops attacked the territory of Taganrog, using a missile of an unidentified type with highly damaging properties.
The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation stated that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) hit the center of Taganrog with a converted version of the S-200 air defense missile. The governor of the Rostov region Vitaly Golubev reported that 12 people were injured in the explosion in the city, nine of whom were hospitalized, and one received a head injury.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided to conduct a military special operation in Ukraine in response to a request for help from the heads of the LPR and DPR.
The decision to conduct the operation was the reason for new sanctions against Russia by the United States and its allies.
