More than seven thousand liters of surrogate alcohol were seized by police from the garage of an entrepreneur in the city of Zarechny, Sverdlovsk Region. The Ural Mash Telegram channel reported this.
The warehouse with illegal products was reported to the police by residents who noticed containers of alcohol being loaded into the garage. Law enforcement officers opened the box and found over seven thousand bottles of surrogate vodka, canisters, and barrels of alcohol-containing liquid.
The movers detained at the scene explained that they were paid to unload a shipment of goods and bottle it.
As investigators established, the garage was owned by bootleggers, a local entrepreneur; the man did not suspect that the tenants would produce counterfeit goods. The alcohol-containing liquid was seized and sent for examination.
Earlier, a court in Yekaterinburg sentenced the participants in the case of trading in surrogates.
