As of this week, the museum is open again to visitors who are interested in the history of the Berlin fire brigade. The official reopening took place – among others in the presence of state fire director Karsten Homrighausen and museum director Gordian Scholz – last Saturday, the 171st birthday of the Berlin fire department. here some Photos.
One of the new features of the fire brigade museum is that it is now barrier-free. An elevator was also installed so that people in wheelchairs, senior citizens, families with prams or other people with restricted mobility can get into the museum and move around in it.
In the exhibition, visitors can then learn interesting facts from over 170 years of fire service history, e.g. B. that the fire pump used to be operated with pure muscle power. The historical vehicles are also exciting. Guided tours will be offered again soon.
