Berlin’s Governing Mayor Franziska Giffey will this afternoon with Kiev’s mayor Vitali Vladimirovich Klitschkov make video calls. According to the information of the daily mirror, the Ukrainian side asked for an interview.

It was not previously known what the phone call between Giffey and him was supposed to be about. The call is scheduled for 5 p.m. and should last around half an hour.

Berlin had taken in a particularly large number of Ukrainian refugees in Germany. 285,000 war refugees have now arrived in Ukraine. Some of these people have traveled on or returned to Ukraine.

Vitali Klitschko was last in Berlin in April 2022. At that time, the Mayor of Kiev and ex-boxing world champion met Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), among others. He had thanked the Germans for their support for Ukraine.
