The world is running away, athletics is still holding on, says Varhaník. He believes in three medals at the EC

A record expedition numbering 55 athletes and ambitions to win multiple medals. Just three weeks after the World Championships in Eugene, Czech athletes are preparing for the European Championships in Munich, where they will compete from Monday. “We had three medals in Berlin 2018, two in Munich 2002, so I would be happy if we were within this range,” says Libor Varhaník, head of the Czech Athletics Association and vice-president of European Athletics.
